Also if you would like to have a skills competition, click on the bird and let us know.

It has taken me longer to get to post here since last. That was on April 15th, Tax Day. First I’ve to thank everyone that has stopped by here over the last year. I’m not getting wildly rich from this blog, but the support here does help make ends make. I really appreciate each and every one of you.

There has been a lot going on online and off. I’ve had a lot of contact in e-mails, social networks and phone conversations with a few readers. It’s been a great experience and I hope that folks were about to walk away with some new ideas from the exchange.

The Overlooked Tree

Everyone goes looking for the richest forest. The biggest misconception is that you have to reach all the over the map to achieve that. We tend to overlook how valuable the wood is from trees in our own backyard. I was looking over a budget for friend during this past weekend when I noticed something that caught my eye. Take a quick look at these keywords and bids:

california auto insurance quotes $57.34
auto insurance quotes california $57.01
arizona divorce attorneys $53.56
dui attorney los angeles $52.75
personal injury attorneys chicago $51.59
houston criminal lawyer $49.59
criminal houston lawyer $49.59
san diego criminal lawyer $48.30
chicago personal injury lawyers $46.81
dui attorney san diego $46.04
chicago injury lawyers $45.22
maine white water rafting $45.18

Have you noticed the common denominator in this list? There is a city or geo-location in each keyword. This list knocked home a point I try to make when someone is looking for a market that can help them be profitable online – THINK LOCAL, REACH GLOBAL.

Plant an Acorn and Grow a Strong Oak

OK so you don’t live in one of those cities and you are thinking this list won’t help you. You are missing the big picture. More professionals with a local service area is using Google Adword to market on the Internet today. They could care less about landing a client on the other end of the country, it would cost them more than they would take in. They want clients in their backyard. They are competitive with the advertising budgets because have get the customers in their area before their competitor does. They are targeting their local market and you should be too.

A hyper-local blog or website, augmented with Twitter and Social Networks as traffic feeder can become profitable faster than a blog about blogging, Work at Home, car buying or dieting. People are more interested about restaurants, movies, festivals, public service, professionals and etc close to home. They going to be looking online until they find a good local information source.

Hyper-local is a hot market and chances are you aren’t going to have too many others swimming in the same pond. If you do find interest that they aren’t devoting as much coverage on.

Using The Lunch Money Challenge In Your Neighborhood

This week we will start looking at ways to use social media to make lunch money. To participate in this exercise doesn’t require any investment at all, it will be sticking to the No Start-Up Cost theme that everyone enjoys.

There is one low cost purchase I would suggest that would help you – an Internet domain name. This usually less than $10 at most registers. Don’t purchase one just yet until

Here is a list of the things you will want to gather:

Google Adsense account – The user name will be used to access other Google services

Pepperjam account – This affiliate network has some great advertisers and tools to help you monetize your website

Facebook membership. Myspace is also OK, but it doesn’t have the reach of Facebook

Memberships to social bookmarking sites like – Reddt, Propeller, del.icio.us, Digg and Mixx

Yahoo account – for Flickr and Site Explorer

Free classified, weekly and alternative newspapers from YOUR city

All the Internet services are free, so there is no excuse not give this exercise a try.

A Contest

If there is enough interest in participating in the Hyper-Local exercise I might be able to find a few sponsors that would step up for some prizes. Are you up for the challenge? If so then click on Sir Tweet O’ Lot (or just his name) at the top of this article to send a tweet my way or leave a comment below saying you are interested.

Recently I was asked what tools can a blogger use to help create this best possible experience for the reader. Naturally I began to think of wild exotic laptops, high end video production equipement and the like, but the question was asked by an old friend wanting to start out blogging and they didn’t want to spend a lot of money. After looking at the list I knew that this short list of equipment could be used be anyone wanting to expand their Social Media experience. After we finish going over the list I’ll share how some of these items helped a friend of mine make a big sale in a cold market.

The All Too Important Card

The first item that I believe is a necessity is a Business Card. You can put just enough information on the card to point people to your Twitter profile, website, blog or Facebook profile. The Facebook URL is fairly long and it’s not as important compared to the other profiles. Definitely but your Twitter user name on the card (i.e. @tweetforbucks). The cards won’t set you back too much and Bizcard.com Offers 250 FREE Business Cards To Help You Get Started! After spending a few minute preparing your copy and using their website you can mark that on off your list.

Smile You On Your The Net

Number two on the list would be a decent digital camera, like the Nikon Coolpix S60. This camera is small and easy to carry in your pocket everywhere and is ready to snap a photo at the drop of a hat. The results are great and easy to share on Flickr or Twitpic. If you are writing a post about attending an outdoor concert, like Sundown in the City, a few photos to accompany will help tell the better and build your reader base. If you’re a salesperson you should really consider keeping a camera in your pocket constantly, I’ll explain this in the end.

Have Netbook, Will Travel

The third item is something you can get by without, but it makes blogging, Twittering or surfing the Internet possible virtually anywhere. A netbook, like the Acer Aspire One is small, lightweight and easy to take anywhere yet it’s still powerful enough to get more Internet and office task down in short order. It has a built in webcam, so you can start a webcast or chat from anywhere with a WiFi signal or just add a cellular 3G card to ditch the hotspot.

Roll Video

The fourth and last on my short list of equipment for blogging and social media kit is The Flip video camera. This little wonder is small, can record up to an hour of video in standard or HD quality video depending of the model and it is easy to upload and share.

The software is built into the camera, so you are not limited as where you have to upload from. If you were to make a video from a social event you could post it to your blog or social network profile and send out a tweet to let others know what is happening there almost live as it happens. It’s a great way to help bring more people to attend an event or show to support a cause. A person in the sales profession could record a video showing and demonstrating the latest arrival in the showroom and post to Youtube, Facebook and other social networks.

Mixing It All Together

Now let’s put all this together on how a salesperson can use all these tools, mix it up with social media and land the big sale. If you were working as a car salesperson for dealership and business is slow, the economy and gas prices aren’t helping things. Then you have a person come on the lot wanting to test drive a Corvette. You put your business card ith your Twitter profile in his hand right off the bat before you head on the test drive. After the drive as they get out of the car you ask to take their picture sitting behind the wheel or beside the car. After you take the photo give them your business card again and tell them if they want to see the photo you’ll post on Flickr, Twitpic or some other social network. Tell them to just check your Twitter page to find the link to the photo. You can have the photo online in under five minutes and you have one more way to contact the buyer.

But Wait Didn’t Forget the Cellphone?

One thing I did leave off is a cellphone, smartphone, iPhone or other type device. The reason being that you are probably already using one to post to Twitter already. I like to use the iPhone or iPod Touch myself, but that is just my choice. I’m considering an Android in the future because of the applications.

Does This Work?

In the case of my nieghbor and friend who I have been coaching on using social media and networks yes. He had been resistant to try it, but the car market had him trying everything to make any sales. When he finally did the photograph of the prespective client with a car they were interested in and posted the photo online. The morning following the photo going on his Facebook page and linking to on Twitter the test driver sent him a Tweet back wanting to buy the Vette at a lower price. The dealership accepted the offer, my friend made the sale and there was one more Corvette owner in the world. I don’t believe that this social interaction will make every car on the lot roll of the lot, but I don’t feel this will help close the sale for those customers that are on the fence.

One thing to consider is about purchasing any equipment for blogging and social networking. If you are making a living, full or part time, you may be able to deduct some or all you purchases on your income taxes. You should check with a tax professional to get their expert guidance in this matter and not rely solely on this post.

Well there you go, another idea on possible way to make money using social media and you didn’t have to spend $99 on another get rich quick program or sit through a long PowerPoint presentation. If you are a car salemans you should give this a try to thaw out a frozen sales season. Please visit this website’s sponsors and see what they have to offer. Without them this blog would have dried up by now. So until next time, keep Tweeting and seeing opportunities.

As promised The Lunch Money Challenge has started back up with new ideas.

Sir Tweet O' Lot has the information on how to make money online without spending a cent.

Here is a way to make money without spending a nickle and using only social media.

OK you’re sitting there surfing the Internet and would like to earn extra money from your time online. You don’t want to or can’t afford to spend anything to get things started. Here’s one way to begin and you can get it started in a few minutes.

Social Bookmark websites like Digg allow you bookmark, tag and share websites you find interesting. What you will find is that many of those social media networks create a Really Simple Syndication (RSS) feed of all the bookmarks you have made. Wouldn’t you like to get something back from all that time you have spent online finding sites that interest you? Well you can and here it is easy steps.

1. Sign up for a Twitter account if you haven’t already.

2. Go to your Social Media Bookmark service and find the RSS for your account. Copy and paste the address for your RSS to a text document in Notepad or other text editor.

Here is an example from Digg to show where you will find your RSS feed for your bookmarks.

3. Now set up a Google Adsense account. If you have one already then just scoot on down to the next step.

4. In Adsense go to the “Adsense Set-up” tab and select “Adsense for Content” and set up an ad unit for a 234 by 60 advertisment. Copy text to Notepad or your favorite text editor and save it until we need it again.

5. Point you web browser to Hootsuite.com and sign up for their service. It’s free.

In Hootsuite go the Account Settings tab

6. Once you have created a Hootsuite account, find the RSS/Atom Feeds tab. Click the Add New Feed button. Then copy and paste your RSS address from the text document you created in Step 2. Then click the Twitter profile you want to send Tweets from. From the pull down menus decide how often you want to send a Tweet with your link and how many. Next click the Save button.

7. Now select the global Settings (Upper right hand corner, second from the far right).

8. Click on the Settings tab and scroll down to the bottom where you see Google Adsense Code section. Copy and paste your document you created in step 4. Select the Twitter profiles you want your ad displayed with and click Save Adsense Code button.

That’s it your done. Get back and start posting some more bookmarks to feed that bad boy.

I’m not going to tell you are going to become a millionaire from this. You can earn some extra cash depending on the amount of time your spend bookmarking and the quality of the links you are sharing. If you try to stay within one or two topics that you bookmark you are going to see a following on Twitter. Those viewers will be waiting to see what new sites you have found when you consistently stay focused on the subject they are interested in, remember the “Virgin Niche“. Remember that Google’s Adsense will be targeting the followers by serving ads in that match their interest and there is a higher conversion rate for niche followers.

As you can see you had nothing to buy to start out. Anything you make is all profit. I’m not charging for this because I know everyone is either wanting make extra money to get by or they are looking get started in an Internet business and don’t have much cash to invest. The Lunch Money Challenge has been a lot fun to share with everyone. When I get an e-mail from someone telling me they got their first commission check using only social media and the information they got from this blog it’s a cool thing to hear. I would ask you do check out some of the advertisers on here to help me keep this site running. Just remember the old “It doesn’t cost anything to look”.

Well put this knowledge to work and get ready for the next idea coming up. If you haven’t signed up for Pepperjam Network yet, you might want to as we will be using them in the next demonstration. You can earn $10 Sign On Bonus for All New Pepperjam Network Affiliates with this link.

There is one place on the Internet that has strong numbers these days with a user base of over 175,000,000 users still has no sign of letting up. That would be Facebook. While I have had a group page for Tweet For Bucks on Facebook, the presence did not work to help reader connect, share ideas and have an open dialog. Over the past few weeks I’ve had a little time to spend on moving things to the fan page of Facebook.

This relaunch on Facebook is also in tandum with the new Facebook design change that came this week. It wasn’t planned that way, just one of those cosmic things. Also a fresh template was brought on to this blog. I think this new layout will be easier to read and navigate. There will be a couple more screws to tighten on the layout before I’ll be completely happy, but Rome wasn’t built in a day.

This Can Only Mean One Thing…

All of these improvements are to get us ready to go back and add some more money making ideas to The Lunch Money Challenge. If you aren’t fimilar with exercise, The Lunch Money Challenge is a workshop telling how you can make money online with having to spend and money to start-up or to keep it going. There is no sign-up, no fees and no sells pitches – just ideas how you can turn your Social Media collateral into a revenue stream that can supplement your regular income that you can spend on things you have had to cut out of your life with the current recession.

I’m not asking anyone to buy anything for the TLMC, but I would ask that you consider some of the advertisers on this site. They help keep this website alive. The good and services offered that can help you earn more money, make your life simpler and enjoy your free time.

So get on your social networks of choice, make more friends, build stronger relationships with your friends and always to ready to the next person out.

You can follow me @tweetforbucks and feel free to give me shout.

You’re so inundated with all of the products that you hear about that can make you rich by making money online. If they’re all true, then why aren’t we all rich?

Good question. There are many ways to make money online, and there should be enough to go around for everyone. Why, then are only some affiliates succeeding while others are failing?

Because the ones who succeed are remaining focused. As affiliate marketers who are trying to make money online, you need to remember at all times what you’re trying to accomplish. Those who are struggling to make money have lost their focus, and have become distracted from the core of their online business plan.

There are many ways to make money online; try them all at once and you’re guaranteed to fail.

In short, you can lose sight of your goals. If you’ve decided that the best way to sell your products and earn you money is through PPC advertising, then what are you doing buying software to help you with list building? You’re splitting your focus, and your business is hurting as a result.

If you’ve decided that PPC advertising is the way to go for your online business, then concentrate on that. Learn as much as you can about PPC advertising, buy products to maximize your PPC campaign. Don’t get distracted by all the other forms of advertising out there until you’ve given your PPC advertising campaign the attention it deserves.

The problem that most affiliate marketers encounter when they’re starting out get distracted by the sheer amount of advertising vehicles available to them. List building one day, SEO the next, on to PPC and so forth. They start out trying to understand their niche, get distracted by membership sites, and then that gets put on the back burner when they get this great email about how you can make a mint on Ebay.

All of this discussion begs the question: what is your plan to make money online? Out of all the different methods available, what do you think will work best for you?

If you do decide that PPC advertising is the way to go, then make a commitment to do it was thoroughly as possible. Then, when the next interesting news about a great new product comes your way, you need to stop, and evaluate whether or not it will help you meet the goals that you’ve set for yourself. If it doesn’t, then no matter how interesting it is, walk away, because it will just distract you from your goals.

So How Does PPCKahuna Come Into All of This?

Once you’ve decided what your goals are, and if you’ve decided that PPC advertising is the way to go, then you need to find tools to help accomplish that goal. And PPC Kahuna has a whole offering of tools to make your PPC advertising turn clicks in to money for you. PPCKahuna has all of the resources to take you through the ins and outs of PPC advertising. If you haven’t added some of the people who have been in the discussions with, you need to do so. Introduce yourself and let them know about your background on the mutual topics you share in common. It doesn’t have to be a long intro or a résumé, just enough to help them understand where you’re coming from.

Now depending on which social network you are using, you should see a blog, journal or diary for you make entries about your thoughts. On Facebook it’s the wall that you’d add note to the ‘Wall’. Take a few minutes to start using it and begin writing on point of interest or a how to that you think people in your special interest groups would find interesting to read. Just as an example take the topic of digital photography explain why capturing photos in RAW format renders much better images than shooting as a JPG file. Try to make the post at least 250 words, but 375 to 400 words can really help get you noticed as an authority. When you’re writing the post incorporate the KEYWORDS at least 4 times into it. In the example RAW would be the KEYWORD.

After you’ve got your post up and have proof read it, start spreading the news. You’ve got to toot your own horn before anyone else will. Sign-up for Twitter.com, Digg and StumbleUpon. Send out a tweet with a link to your post, Digg the post and add to StumbleUpon. You’ll start to see more people reading and maybe even joining the social network if they haven’t already and they’ll probably add you first. There are several other services to announce your postings that I’ll add later, but just get in the practice of the task.

Try to add something daily to your blog even if it’s just a few links of websites you’ve found on the topic and tell why you found them of interest in a sentence or two. Never let your blog go more than a week without a fresh entry. Fresh content is what people are wanting and if they find it from you, you’re going to be part of their daily Internet cycle each day.

By now you should have signed up with an affiliate network. If not sign-up with Pepperjam Network, they have the best diverse selection of advertising partners to work with. Here are four good reasons to consider Pepperjam:

Pepperjam Chat

Pepperjam offers a really cool real-time chat feature called Pepperjam Chat. The Pepperjam Chat module allows you to chat with your affiliate managers about anything and everything, from requesting private offers, coupons or special offers, unique creatives, and more!

Pepperjam Educational Resource Center

Available exclusively to Pepperjam affiliates, the Pepperjam Education and Resource Center, also known as the Pepperjam Knowledge Vault. The goal of this section of Pepperjam Network is to provide affiliates with the tools and resources to become top performing Super Affiliates. Many of the tools and educational resources you will find in the Vault are used by Super Affiliates to make lots of money.

Pepperjam Network Reporting

Pepperjam Network’s AJAX-driven reporting technology is best of class. Aside from allowing affiliates to run (and download) various reports not found on most affiliate networks, Pepperjam Network offers advanced SID-level tracking and reporting. Others are saying that Pepperjam’s tracking and reporting is the best in the industry.

Pepperjam Network Transparency

Your Transparency Rating is based on a number of factors, including verification of your e-mail, phone number, and disclosure of your marketing practices. A higher Transparency Rating allows you to access higher commission payouts for certain merchant programs and also is a statement of your interest in building strong relationships with your partners.

Those items should help you see the advantages of the Pepperjam Network. Also you can Sign Up for Pepperjam Network and Get a $10 Sign On Bonus. Ten bucks just to give the company a chance to help you make money. By the way there is no sign-up fees or charges to use Pepperjam in case you thought there might be.

Find the merchants with the affiliate networks that sell the types of products and services you’re writing about and join their affiliate programs. When you have joined a few take a look at their text ads. Think about how you can incorporate the phrases of those ads into you blog text that sounds natural.

In your next post try to work one text ad into your blog post. Don’t ask people to go clicking those links just for the sake of clicking, write your copy to compel them try the products or services. Keep in mind that you’ve got the reader’s trust, never offer something that you would buy or try and never, ever start sending spam messages to them with the offers. A blog will help draw them in and pre-qualify them as a possible customer if they find you’ve explained it well. An unsolicited e-mail will never fly. We’ll go into the e-mail game later on.

Now try to work on your postings and broadcasting with other social media about your post. Next time we will go into ways to streamline the process with various tips and ideas. I will leave you with one more item to consider below and a couple discount offers to go along with the idea.

You could spend a little cash and sign up with a web hosting service and set-up a blog. Some Internet hosting companies can automatically install the software to run a blog. Host like WebHostingPad, easyCGI.com, Host595.com, Lunarpages.com and ZipHosters.com all offer easy install of WordPress, the standard for blogs. I’ll have some discounts codes below. Again as I mentioned in earlier post you can make money without spending a dime, I would at some point consider adding hosting of a blog that you have control over to open up more income opportunities.

Get a Professional Website Online Instantly. Lunarpages Web Hosting $48 Off Coupon + Free Domain!

Relying only on search engines and pay per click advertising to get traffic to your website is a little short sighted in today’s competitive Internet. Every day you’re competing with hundreds of thousands of websites that want your readers and customers. The best way to help bring eyeballs to your site is to give it legs.

Never underestimate the loyalty of your readers, offering them gear that has your website’s brand on it might appeal to your core following. Making t-shirts and other items available for your readers to order does not require a investment to get started with this project. Cafe Press can have you selling items with your logo and URL in an evening. Spend a little time with your choice of designs, make it an wardrobe item that anyone would want to go to anytime it’s clean. Incorporate your logo in the design and take the color scheme from your website as the starting point. You should make certain that the URL is readable on the shirts and other items. You have the option of adding a price mark-up to the items Cafe Press prints, so you can add an extra revenue channel to the website also.

Make sure you’ve got business cards and they have your URL on it. Hand those cards out to everyone – bagboys, doctors, backer, teachers and any one else. You want as many people as possible to see your web address. Placing the URL directly below the phone number will have the same effect as if was the headline. IF you’re a blogger and don’t want to share your phone number then try to have the URL below the headline fo the card. You can find several offers to print you business cards for free to try printer’s services. Below are two links for such printers. If you’re using Myspace, Facebook or another type of social media to promote primarily with, you really want the business cards.

Bizcard.com Offers 250 FREE Business Cards To Help You Get Started!

Start Today With Free Business Cards…Visit VistaPrint.com!

Grocery stores, gas stations and convenience stores are always seeking donations to raise money for charities. The donation usually includes a small piece of signage that you can put your name on and is displayed somewhere in the store. Instead of your name put your URL on sign. People entering the store or standing line will see URL and might visit your site from recall of the URL.

If your local ordinaces allow it order few yard signs like the political candidates use and spread them around. Make sure your URL is readable from 30 feet away. I wouldn’t have a real buzy layout for the yard signs because your going to have a very short time exposed to the viewers before they move on.

Shop Custom Real Estate Signs Online at BuildASign.com!

Investigate the advertising rates for the “thrifty shopper” papers. The ROP (Run of press) ads are really affordable considering the readership. People pick these papers up while out to lunch from work and will read them when they get back to the office with the computer in front of them. You don’t need long ad copy, use the same editorial copy you would use for Adsense. In about of these shopper papers have a website, so you may get a back link of the ad also.

One trick I’ve done is talk small shop and restaurant owners and managers to put the URL of one of my sites on their signage in front their business. One dinner I did this at brought a truckload of buyer over a weekend. Another thing that can be cheap is on small take-out dinners and delis is offer to have their take out menu printed with your website’s name and URL. If you use a quick copy shop you can get the menus printed cheap.

The thought I’m trying to push here is look for the common of places and try to promote your website there. Many can be obtained much cheaper than an online advertising campaign and the visiters are going to be more committed to exploring more than your land page.

Keep these ideas in mind a we’re getting ready to continue with the lunch money challenge.

You got through with a killer post. You know it will it show up on some of the feed aggregators and maybe Google will spider it, but you want the word NOW. If your using Twitter you’re in luck.

There are two good plug-in for WordPress that will send out a tweet as soon as publish if you configure them to do so. Twitpress by Tom Purnell and Twitter Tools by Alex King both will send out news of your post as soon as you hit publish on WordPress. Twitter Tools as another feature that will collect all your tweets and publish a post as a daily digest or even take each tweet and create a post on your WordPress blog if you want. One this blog I decided to do the daily digest so that something would be published even if I didn’t have time to spend on writing something for the day.

Now if you are using a blog hosted at WordPress.com, Blogger.com, Myspace.com or where ever else you can’t add plug-ins to the under workings of your blog. Don’t feel all left out just yet, there is a work around for this situation (of course you could sign up for webhosting service from Webhostingpad.com and host it yourself). The service Twitterfeed which will take your RSS feed and automatically send out a tweet. This service will not send out as soon as publish. You’ll have to wait at longest 30 minutes for the service to see your new post and tweet it. So the instant gratification is delayed a little, but it will come so you can not have to remember to tweet it yourself.

The next thing you will be wanting to do is look at your blog title. If you want you post it get any juice from the Twitter action you might want to look at the keywords you’re using. Think about what folks on the other end of Twitter will be searching and try incorporate that one word that will bring them to you post. This is something you should already be doing, but it doesn’t hurt to hear it again.

For those of you follow The Lunch Money Challenge, we’ll be moving on to the next step towards bringing in the cash for lunch on Wednesday. This will give you a little more time to mentally gear up for it. For the ones that have asked how much I make with this system, I’ll try to answer that question. I really don’t want to say the amount, but here’s a hint – I usually grab lunch at causal grill now far from my home/office. I try to take at least one customer or perspective customer, order whatever sound great and a few beers. I do this five days a week, on weekend I catch the games there also. So calculate somewhere around 48 hamburger platters, 98 draft beers, probably 12 other lunch menu items, a few appetizers and a lot hot wings. So it’s nothing like a get rich quick work a home thing that’s advertised on late night infomercials income. The income is enough to keep a business type lunches in my everyday budget without loading up my credit cards. To do this using nothing more than social media, some affiliate marketing connections, an hour or two a night and I didn’t have sell time shares, prepaid services or some other program.

The is the third installment of The Lunch Money Challenge (TLMC)

If you’ve spend the time to find topics that you that you have some level of authority or passion about you should have two or three solid interest that you wouldn’t have any problem carrying a discussion or online dialogue about. Your choices should be something that you won’t grow tired of after a month or so. If so you’re just going to be wasting your time.

Now you’re going to be taking your game to field. If you haven’t joined a social network you’ll need to. The two top picks are Facebook and Myspace. After you have set-up a profile that gives enough details to offer other members an insight to who you are and what makes you tick (not too much like your home address or where to find you, for your safety) it’s time to do some exploring.

Take your list of topics and find some interest groups on the network that cover items. Join them and introduce yourself to the community. Offer you opinions in a constructive fashion without offending anyone. Never challenge anyone if you think they are wrong, it never turns well doing that. Share photos of the topic (i.e. if it’s a Corvette group – photos of ‘vettes you admire) so everyone can see you’re true of heart when it comes to the topic. Take time to make as many online “friends” as you can in the group. You’ll find that plenty these folks will have a lot offer in your success in this challenge.

Most social networks have a blog section. Take the time to start writing in the blog. This might feel a little foreign to start out with, but take time to commit you thoughts to writing. Try to keep your postings about the topics you’re identified as your core interest. If you’re uncomfortable writing to much, try just gathering a fews links to stories about those topics and post them with your quick thoughts about the articles. Get your readers in the habit of wanting to jump on your links. Once you get started try to post at least once a day or every other day. You want people to make reading your thoughts a ritual and you do that you’ve got to make writing the posts a ritual for yourself also.

In the next posting we will be looking at ways to bring other social media into your exposure. In the meantime, keep your postings and interaction as active as possible.

The is the second installment of The Lunch Money Challenge (TLMC)

So by now you should have had time to wonder how it was possible for me to earn money just using social media. Also you’ve had time to sign-up for the Pepperjam Network and get accustomed to the company. Now you’re chomping at the bit wanting to find how you can get started in this exercise of social monetization, so here we’ll start out on the first leg the journey.

The reason social media and social networks are so popular is because it easy for millions of people to connect, communicate, share information and bond with like minded people. Chances are you already belong one or more social media services like Myspace or Facebook. You haven’t made a dime of it or even thought you could. If all you’ve done is upload some random photos, found an old classmate or watched a video and haven’t moved any further into the social experience you won’t. All those activities are fine and great way to relax.

If you have dug deeper into these services you’ll find hobbies, career, civic and educational sections. Perhaps you’ve even joined those groups or at least read through some of the discussions. What you will notice is that there are a lot people in those sections who follow that interest track closely. They are there to expand their base of knowledge and want to pick others brains on the topic. Everyone has one or two subjects they want to know everything about and become immersed in. Like wise everyone feels that they are an expert on some level on a topic or two and they want to share this information. A couple of mine are Internet marketing, photojournalism, and law enforcement (odd mix).

Now heres your first assignment to get started with. Over the next 48 hours make a note of anything you have a strong interest in and a large basis of knowledge on. Some topics will be related to your profession, hobbies, family and community. These topics don’t have to come from things you’ve found on the Internet. You’ll do better if they are thing that are easily found on the Internet. Commit those topics to writing, nothing long just the topic so you come back to them. For you to succeed in this you really need to take the next 48 hours and record what you do over that time. It may sound a little over the top, but as we move forward you’ll see why this is one of the most critical steps you’ll take to reach you income goals.

When we pick this back up you should have a list that contains at least three things you could carry a conversation about without feeling outside your comfort zone doing. You can subscribe to the RSS of this site and follow it on Twitter @tweetforbucks to get to the minute updates.

Just in case you haven’t joined Pepperjam Network, I’ve put the link below for you to register and get a $10 sign on bonus. There is no fees or charges for becoming a partner. You’ll be using this service later, so it’s best to join now before sign on bonus offer expires.
