In an ending that read like a Hollywood script the Mars Phoenix Lander sent home one last message before going out of service. The message via Twitter was “01010100 01110010 01101001 01110101 01101101 01110000 01101000 <3″ which was machine language for ‘Triumph’ and the heart emoticon. It was doubtful that the Phoenix probe was sending one last shout out to Triumph the Insult Comic Dog.
